Ightham Scout Hut

As part of our Community Foundations programme, we have helped a Scout group local to our new head office, with the foundations to their very own headquarters.

The 1st Ightham Scout Group, which was established as a charity more than a century ago, is raising money to build a multi-purpose Scout and sports headquarters near Cricketts Farm in Sevenoaks, Kent.

A team of four ground-workers helped out by donating time, labour, materials and plant to install a new manhole and dig a 90-metre new channel for a 6” foul connection to the main sewer line.

The work, overseen by our site supervisor Tony Watkins and ground-workers Danny Redding, Liam Doogue and Adam Appleton, who drove the eight-tonne, 360° excavator/dumper truck, spent a total of seven days on the job which was set out by engineer Dan Gough.

Their hard work earned them, and our CEO Patrick O’Keefe, a Scout DIY badge each.
