Week 1 round up #okeefe5000
Today we should have seen a hectic day at Cricketts Farm with marquees being erected along with the stage, toilets arriving on site and various members of our team scurrying around as we prepared to welcome all our friends, families and guests to our 50th birthday party on Saturday 6th June. But we are not. Instead we are constantly adapting to new ways of working and what is being called “the new norm”.
Our #okeefe5000 challenge of walking 5,000 miles to raise £15,000 for our three chosen charities; NHS Charities Together, The Lighthouse Club and of course 21 Together, has been up and running for a week now, so here is our update from week 1.
It’s great to see that so many of our team have got stuck in with our challenge and that their family members and friends are joining our challenge too to support our charities. We are extremely happy to announce that to date (05.06.20), we have raised £7,136.25 (inc. gift aid) in just over a week, which is absolutely amazing – we are almost half way there to our £15,000 target. We need to reach this target and try and smash it for our charities!
As of 12pm today (05.06.20), we have collectively chipped 188miles off of our 5,000 mile target. So we still have a long way to go but we have made a start. It’s great to see some of our team walking to work, trying runs for the first time and taking all of their households out on walks.
5000 miles is a long way away currently, but we can do it together!
Patrick O’Keefe ended the week on a half marathon with his friends (socially distanced of course), setting off from our head office at Cricketts Farm.
Here are some of the best pictures from our week 1 round up.
